What is the difference between a helicopter tour and an airplane tour?

Both are regulated by the same FAA routes and fly between 500′ AGL and 1,500′ AGL. Every Joy Air passenger gets a window seat at no extra charge, while some helicopters have a middle seat with restricted views. We have a more lenient weight restriction over typical tour helicopters. Airplanes are significantly less expensive to operate and maintain, so we are able to forward those savings on to you!

Do you offer transportation?

We do not provide transportation to the airport meeting point. If you are visiting Orange County without a vehicle, all of the popular ride-hailing services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) are available in the area.

Are taxes and fuel surcharges included in the price?

Yes, taxes and fuel surcharges are included in all of our air tours.

What if the weather is bad? Do we get a refund?

Should your flight be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to reschedule you. In the event that rescheduling is not possible, you will receive a refund. If you are visiting the area, we recommend you book your tour to fly early in your stay. We definitely do not want you to miss seeing Orange County from above.

Should we tip our pilot?

Our team welcomes your generosity, but never expects it.

Will I see as much from the airplane as in a helicopter?

You will actually see more of Orange County because the Joy Air tour routes cover more area in a single flight.

Will I see everything in your tour description?

Every attempt will be made by our pilots to cover each site described, weather permitting. Pilots will adjust their flight path for wind and weather and may include alternate sites. You will have the very best air tour possible on the day of your tour! However, your safety and comfort come first!

How is your safety record?

We have a perfect safety record with no accidents or incidents.

What should I wear?

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing. If you are comfortable on the ground you should be equally comfortable in the airplane.

Should we bring a camera?

Yes, we encourage passengers to bring their cameras. You will achieve beautiful photos with any lens.
